The Alexander Nowell Circle is our society for those who are leaving a legacy to BNC in their wills.
Alexander Nowell was a Fellow, then Principal of Brasenose, and one of the most energetic and committed supporters of the College. As well as his many personal benefactions, he also persuaded Elizabeth I to join him in granting funds for ‘the poor Scholars from the School of Queen Elizabeth in the Royal Hall and College of Brasenose'. His books, willed to the College, are still in the Library.
The Alexander Nowell Circle gives us the opportunity to thank those who have remembered Brasenose in their will. Every two years, members of the Circle are invited as guests of the College for a celebration of their support.
If you have left a legacy to Brasenose, please let us know.
