Brasenose is delighted to announce that the Wolfson Foundation has awarded the College a generous grant of £100,000 to support the redevelopment of Frewin Hall.
We are sincerely grateful for the Wolfson Foundation’s exceptional support in contributing to this significant project. Their assistance is invaluable, and we extend our heartfelt thanks for their commitment to preserving and enhancing this unique space, and promoting Brasenose’s research excellence.
The Wolfson Foundation is an independent charity with a focus on education and research. Its aim is to support civil society by investing in excellent projects in science, health, heritage, humanities and the arts.
The Frewin Hall restoration is an ambitious project to breathe new life into this historic gem. Our goal is to revive its lost period features, thoughtfully undo the impact of outdated modernisations, and seamlessly integrate cutting-edge environmental and sustainability innovations. This transformation is part of a broader vision to enhance the Frewin Annexe.
Once restored, Frewin Hall will evolve from its current role as primarily student accommodation into a vibrant hub for the entire Brasenose community – a dynamic space for studying, socialising, and collaboration. This revitalised landmark will honour its rich history while embracing the future.
