In Brasenose, I lead tutorials for Experimental Psychology (EP) and Psychology, Philosophy and Linguistics students (PPL). Topics I have taught include Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, Programming, Cognition, Perception and Social Psychology.
Research Interests
My research focuses how we learn about the world and make decisions. How does the structure and order of the information we experience affect what we choose and how well we learn? I address these questions with a combination of experiments with human volunteers and computational models of the underlying neural processing mechanisms. Through careful manipulation of the informational landscape in computer tasks, my work has charted how irrelevant alternatives affect economic decisions and how the order of learning opportunities affects learning success.
I am committed to open science and science activism. I have contributed to initiatives for computational replication and anti-racism and climate change workshops and discussion groups.
